Almost Persuaded!
Acts 26:1-29
Christopher A. Bradley

King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

Many have heard the phrase "So close, but yet so far", and have a good understanding of its definition. We witness this phrase coming true while watching the Olympics. The overall winner is given a gold medal, while the second and third place finishers are awarded a silver and bronze medal respectively.

The second and third place finishers came close to winning but in fact did not win the race at all. Some have adopted this way of thinking into their spiritual way of life. Many like the name Christian, but are often unwilling to do the things necessary to actually be a Christian.

With the world growing further and further away from God, it is not spiritually healthy for one to be almost persuaded to be a Christian. The Holy Scriptures presents the evidence of how much better life is when one is a Christian as opposed to one who is not a Christian. King Agrippa was almost persuaded to be a Christian, do not let the same be said about you when Jesus comes again.
